About Us
SWG Consulting is a Communications & Business Consulting Agency unifying public relations, social media, brand marketing and business development expertise into content-rich communications campaigns and strategic business plans that build value.
With over 25 years of experience in the specialty food & beverage market, as well as travel & hospitality, SWG Consulting founders Susan Wheaton and Pierre Guerin work with a range of companies from start-ups to established brands.
We eat, breathe and live food. Spotting new trends, launching new products, driving culinary innovation and finding new ways to reach customers is what drives us.
What began as a work relationship, marketing cheese for Savencia – maker of Alouette and other cheeses - developed into a life together as a family AND a love for what we do as professionals.
After time spent in Lancaster, PA, we moved to France, enjoying many of the country’s bountiful food regions including historic La Rochelle, with some of the best seafood in the world; the Perigord region, renowned for its magret and duck confit; further southwest in the Lot, recognized for its wine and farmstead cheese, as well as fresh & preserved fruit – it’s no surprise that Bonne Maman jams are made here!
Before returning to the US in 2004, we travelled the globe, always inspired by the foods of other cultures and how food was such an integral part of a culture and the stories.
We’ve been on both sides of the table, so to speak, as both client and a provider of services - even having owned a fine dining restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard! As such, we have a true understanding of what it means to provide value.

Susan’s career has focused on the marketing and communications of specialty foods, with expertise in the travel and hospitality industry as well.
Over the past 10 years, she has focused her energies on storytelling and has established strong relationships across all media platforms. Susan’s understanding of how to navigate the media landscape has helped deliver successful public relations campaigns for her clients and showing a high return on investment.

Pierre Guerin

With 25 years of expertise in the Specialty Food & Beverage industry, Pierre has worked for companies in North America and Europe looking to structure and develop their business.
Not only has Pierre been successful at launching new products and increasing sales across a variety of categories nationally and internationally, he has extensive experience in large and small-scale management operations as well. He is able to assist companies design and implement strategic programs, capitalize on trends, hone in on overlooked and underserved customer segments within a market, pioneer new markets and product categories, and improve operational efficiency.
